Pittsburgh’s first female assistant police chief has died at the age of 97.Therese Rocco died Monday night.A statement from the family said Rocco began her career in 1949 as a clerk for the city’s missing persons unit.She later took charge of that unit and, according to the family statement, helped to locate thousands of missing persons and reunite them with family.As of Tuesday morning, funeral arrangements for Therese Rocco had not yet been announced.
