Cyrian Tiankwa of Lansdowne Swim Club won a pair of individual events in the boys’ 14-under group of Division A of the Delco Swim League’s divisional championships on Saturday.
One of those events created a real buzz, as Tiankwa touched in 32.95 seconds in the 50-meter breaststroke. According to Lawrence Park Swim Club records, that broke a pool record that had held since future Olympian Brendan Hansen won that age group event in 1992 in a time of 33.12.
In another pool record performance, the Lawrence Park 13-14 girls 200 free relay team of Viola Wilent, Paige Evans, Maloney Lawrence and Briana Klock won in 1:58.35.
Triple winners at the event for Lawrence Park were Briana Klock(girls 14-under 100 IM, 50 fly, 200 free relay). For Ridley Township, Emery Hoke was a triple winner at 25-meter backstroke, 25 breast and 100 free relay in the 8-under girls age group.
For Lansdowne, Liliana DeMartinis (15-18 age group) won in 50 back, 100 free and 200 free relay, and Colten Turner won at the 100 IM, 50 fly and 50 back for the 11-12 boys.
Lansdowne’s Brady Turner won the boys’ 14-under 50 free, 100 IM and 50 back.
At the C Division championships at Riddlewood Swim Club, Drexel Swim Club’s Ryan Moore, Brookhaven’s Gabe Gallagher and Brookhaven’s Kara Damico were all triple winners.
In the Delco League Senior Diving championships earlier this week, Ridley Township’s Aubrey Kauffman won the girls even with 303.8 points. Teammates Kacey Lenz (299.2) and Ava Kelly (295.4) were second and third, respectively.
Mu’Nairah Saleem of Ridley Park placed fourth at 250.7 and Lansdowne’s Elise Olmstead was fifth at 236.95.
In the boys seniors competition, Tinicum’s Caleb Arnott won with a score of 338.45. Placing second was Tyler Reeve of Ridley Township at 310.1, while RTSC teammate Cody Hollenbach was third at 291.3.
Jeremy Shea and Jack Scholtz of Karakung were fourth and fifth, respectively at 262.3 and 256.45.
