Elsa Tuzeneu (Ouida) passed away peacefully in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on March 11th, 2023 at the age of 84. Elsa was born in Neptune, New Jersey on April 25,1938.
Elsa was a longtime resident of Point Pleasant Beach, and moved to Brick Township, NJ in 2013. In 2021 she moved to North Myrtle Beach to be closer to her daughter, Annie.
Elsa was a graduate of Point Pleasant Beach High School. She attended Ocean County College for Banking and Accounting. Elsa worked at Central Jersey Bank & Trust for 27 years, where she greatly enjoyed not only the work she did, but the multitudes of people that she was able to meet and interact with. After retiring from banking, she worked in home healthcare. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Cancer Concern Center in Point Pleasant Beach after surviving cancer, herself.
She was also an avid member of the Central United Methodist Church of Point Pleasant Beach, participating in Bible studies and volunteering. Elsa loved sharing stories about her personal experiences with the Lord and spreading the wisdom she had gained throughout her life.
Elsa enjoyed antiquing, crafting, sewing, and cooking delicious foods. She also loved animals, especially the stray ones. She has saved many animals over the years, providing them a safe and loving home.
Her family was very important to her, especially her grandchildren who she loved dearly. Elsa and her grandchildren shared many practical and inside jokes, always trying to bring joy to one another and those around them. She will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her desire to make everyone laugh.
She was preceded in death by her father George (Spike) Stengel, the original owner of Spike’s Fishery on Broadway in Point Pleasant Beach, her mother, Elsa Stengel, and her brother Frederick Christian Stengel. She leaves behind a sister, Ruthie Kaiser, her daughter, Anne Skinner, and her grandchildren, Amanda Skinner and her fiancé Dan, CJ Skinner and his wife Rachel, Emma Skinner, and a cousin, Sally Carlo and her husband Mike, as well as many other beloved cousins and friends.
The memorial and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 1st at 1:00 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 729 Arnold Ave, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742.
