BAY HEAD — At the recent Bay Head Council meeting, it was announced that the yearly Farmers Market will be returning at the end of June through September and will take place every Thursday.
This year, they are hoping to team up with Point Pleasant Borough and Mantoloking to make the market bigger and better.
“There is fresh produce that the farmers grow, but there are also paintings and kick knacks for sale. It is not huge but it is pretty well attended,” said Bay Head Mayor William Curtis. “Each year it gets a little better.”
While the market is well attended, Mr. Curtis is hoping to create a larger turnout by incorporating the two towns and hosting the market in a different town each week. The towns will also allow for a wider range of advertisements of the market to bring a larger crowd. Mr. Curtis also hoped the larger area would bring in more vendors.
“It would be much larger and in a bigger place,” said Mr. Curtis. “We could move it to Centennial Park if we get more vendors.”
