OLD BRIDGE – Two New Jersey State Police troopers and a motorist were injured in crashes on the Garden State Parkway early Thursday.
State troopers responded around 2:29 a.m. on reports of a crash on the southbound Parkway near mile marker 121 in Old Bridge, said Trooper Charles Marchan.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a car was traveling south on the Parkway when it struck a deer and became disabled. Responding troopers were struck in the rear by another vehicle traveling south, Marchan said.
The two troopers and the driver of the vehicle that struck them were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both crashes remain under investigation.
