Public Service Electric & Gas President and Chief Operating Officer Kim Hanemann and Gary’s Wine and Marketplace founder and CEO Gary Fisch headed a list of honorees at the eighth annual Corporate Growth Conference and Awards event sponsored by the New Jersey Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.
Hanemann accepted the award on behalf of Public Service Enterprise Group, one of the nation’s largest utilities as well as New Jersey’s oldest and largest gas and electric delivery public utility. Since the company’s founding in 1903, PSE&G has invested in the economy, environment and infrastructure to make the state of New Jersey a better place to live and work.
Fisch received the inaugural Entrepreneur and Community Leadership Award. Gary’s Wine and Marketplace has been operating since 1987 and has been able to withstand multiple economic downturns, a pandemic and grown into one of the largest fine wine and markets in the New Jersey region.
The Corporate Growth Award recognizes companies with annual revenues between $5 million and $500 million that exemplify innovation, excellence and corporate growth. Hanemann and Fisch were joined by the leaders of three middle-market companies cited for their innovation.
- Bardess Group Ltd., Barbara Pound, CEO: Since starting in 1997, Bardess has grown from a small operation to a team of over 60 employees. For more than 25 years, Bardess Group Ltd. has been well-known as a privately-owned consulting firm providing award-winning innovative data analytics and data science solutions.
- Melinta Therapeutics, Christine Ann Miller, CEO: Melinta provides innovative therapies to people impacted by acute and life-threatening illnesses with an unsurpassed commitment to both the providers and the patients. It works to ensure that all people who need its therapies can receive them.
- Prince Sterilization Services, Daniel Prince, CEO: Prince Sterilization Services manufactures and terminally sterilizes products for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. During the first few years of its existence, Prince Sterilization Services became a critical member of the COVID-19 supply chain, providing nasal swabs and containers used for drugs and vaccines. Now, the company does business with six of the 10 largest pharmaceutical companies.
Each of the honorees shared their insights and real-life experiences to a packed room of over 100 attendees, including business owners, service providers and others focused on corporate growth and the mergers & acquisitions community in New Jersey. The event was held at the Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset.
M.J. Jolda, president of ACG N.J. and principal of CMO + Co., lauded the honorees.
“Annually, the awards program draws nominations from some of New Jersey’s most notable companies, from those with long records of achievement to firms rapidly rising in the marketplace,” she said.
Christian Amato, chair of ACG N.J.’s Corporate Growth Conference & Awards and president of CMA Inc., agreed.
