Anne E. Williams, 83, died on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Sunnyside Manor in Wall, NJ after a bravely fought battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Anne was born in 1940 in Morningside Heights, where her life-long love of New York City was instilled.
She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Notre Dame of Staten Island and later went on to become a special education teacher at Middletown South High School. She loved her work, her students and her fellow teachers.
She met her husband Joe (also a native New Yorker) while on spring break in Fort Lauderdale, FL. In addition to raising their beloved daughters and later doting on their treasured grandchildren, they loved to travel the world and enjoyed visiting Europe, South America and Asia, in addition to much of the US. After retiring and moving to Four Seasons at Wall, Anne and Joe enjoyed many years as ‘snowbirds’, dividing their time between Fort Lauderdale, FL and Manasquan, NJ.
She loved life and brought so much happiness to everyone who knew her, including her many friends and her former students. She will be missed beyond words.
Anne is survived by her loving family: Daughters Elizabeth Williams of Scotch Plains, NJ and Kerry Clark (Kevin) of Freehold, NJ; grandchildren: Morgan Clark (Ryan Brandeisky), Dillon Clark and Camryn Clark; and her special friend, Thomas Malloy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph G. Williams, Jr., her parents Francis White and Anna (née Brooks) White and her brother Francis E. White.
Visiting hours with the family will be on Sunday, June 11th between 2:00 and 5:00 pm at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35 at New Bedford Road in Wall, NJ. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 12th at 10:00am at St Denis Catholic Church, 90 Union Avenue, Manasquan, NJ.
