ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) – Fans had the chance to purchase Altoona Curve season tickets early on Saturday at CurveFest.
“We had some fans in the parking lot at 8:00 this morning, 2 hours before we even started,” Nate Bowen, general manager of the Altoona Curve, said.
CurveFest is not limited to just ticket sales; local vendors set up inside the space to make it a proper community-building event–something that Bowen sees as important.
“Whether we’re playing or not, we continue to use Peoples Natural Gas Field as a gathering place for people to socialize and reconnect with other other ticket holders or other people in the community,” Bowen said.
The Altoona Curve made some lifelong fans last year that returned for another round of season tickets.
“Let’s get some tickets and try it out,” Derek Wilson, a season ticket holder and Curve fan, said. “Sure enough, we’re doing it again for another season.”
It is ultimately the fans that keep CurveFest up and running–a fact Bowen is thankful for.

“We couldn’t do what we do without their support,” Bowen said.
The Altoona Curve’s season kicks off April 5 in Akron, Ohio against the Rubberducks. The Curve’s home home opener will be played on April 9 against the Harrisburg Senators. Fireworks will follow.
