Ocean State Job Lot Donates Nearly $400,000 in Retail Value of Pet Food to Local Animal Rescue Organizations

(NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI) — Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL), the region’s premier discount retail chain with 153 stores across the Northeast, launched a pet food donation program for animal welfare organizations, including previous To The Rescue partners, that meet the charitable program’s criteria. OSJL donated nearly $400,000 in retail value of select cat and dog food on a first-come, first-served basis.

To qualify for the program, every organization needed to be a registered nonprofit with a tax-ID, have state-issued paperwork stating the organization serves animal welfare, and be able to transport the pet food from the store themselves.

OSJL’s Charitable Foundation’s “To The Rescue” program debuted in 2019. Since the inception of “To The Rescue”, over 350 animal organizations have benefitted from this program.
